What’s This Blog About?

On November 8, 2018 I delivered a speech (see Speeches link below) about my life journey related to the Christian Reformed Church. This blog is an expanded version of that speech. The first blog post gives an overview. I invite you to follow my blog over the next weeks and months!

Who is Rev. Jim Lucas?

Most importantly, I'm a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. I am also a Grand Rapids native, Calvin Seminary graduate, an ordained minister, and a board certified chaplain. I have provided pastoral care and advocacy for LGBT Christians here in West Michigan since 1992. Learn more about me on the About page (including where this photo of me was taken).
